The Beach
A variety of beaches to suit families in Summer and dog walking in Winter:
Holkham Beach - Great for families, but a bit of a hike to the sea.
Wells Next-the -Sea - Also great for families, good beach but watch as the tide turns, team train, boating lake and mini golf.
Blakeney - Good crabbing at the quay and seal trips from here.
Sheringham - traditional seaside town but not tacky, nice beaches and pubs.
The Runtons - rockpools for crabbing with daily guides, next to nice sandy beach.
Cromer - Large seaside town with all the amenities and a Pier.
Shopping
Some nice seaside market towns with a variety of shops from Fat Face to antiques.
Burnham Market - Chelsea on Sea, need I say more!
Holt - Popular with visitors, particularly for art galleries.
Norwich - only 35 minutes by car
For Birdwatchers
North Norfolk is the place for birdwatchers. But if you are one, you already know that. If you fancy having a go then try one of the following:
Pensthorpe - as seen on TV - BBC’s Springwatch is filmed there. Only 5 minutes from The Manor House.
Cley Next-the-Sea - the birdwatchers paradise at Cley marshes.
Sea Fishing
Plenty of opportunity for sea fishing from the shore or by boat. Boat trips for Mackerel and Sea Bass are popular and well worth booking in advance during high season.
Horse Riding
If you wish to bring your horse with you, then I would be happy to point you in the direction of some lovely coastal rides. stabling and turnout in private paddock is available at The Manor House. Please ask for details.
Eating Out
There is a wonderful selection of places to eat to suit all tastes and budgets, from the recently revamped village pub to Michelin starred dining. Please ask me for recommendations and help with reservations.
